Chinese herbs are safe and effective to overcome illness and preserve health.

General Information

Chinese herbal medicine is the worlds oldest continuously practiced herbal tradition.

Using detailed methods of diagnosis and evaluation, I select the most appropriate herbal formula to address your health concerns.

The first written text in China about the use of herbs for medicine was compiled between 200 B.C. and 100 A.D. Known as the Yellow Emperors Inner Classic, this established a foundation which began a more systemic investigation into herbal medicine. The choice to use Chinese herbal medicine as part of your healthcare allows you to benefit from thousands of years of clinical development and observation. Herbal medicine is used to treat a wide variety of conditions including colds and flus, digestive problems, pms, infertility, anxiety, depression, low energy, stress, insomnia, allergies, weakened immune systems, headaches, and pain.

In order to ensure that you reap the biggest health rewards, I am very selective with where I acquire our herbal formulas. In these times of increasing environmental contaminants, I use herb companies that adhere to the most stringent standards of inspection and quality.

If you are currently taking western medication, Chinese herbal therapy may still be an option for you. Be sure to inform me about the drugs you are using. Some herbs are contraindicated with certain types of medication. While I will make sure there are no known interactions, the research on drug and herb interaction is still a work in progress. Taking your herbs and medications 2 hours apart is a good idea.

Single Herbs and Herbal Formulas

Sometimes individual herbs such as Ginseng, Astragalus, or Dang Gui (to name a few) are recommended by themselves. However, when herbs are combined together by experienced practitioners, they can often get better results than either herb by itself. This is why I mostly recommend herbal formulas, specifically tailored and recommended for you, taking into account all of your health concerns.
